Dr. Lum
Native to California, Dr. Michael Lum is a licensed physician and surgeon in the State of California. He received his baccalaureate degree with honors from Loma Linda University, and his medical degree at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1989. He completed a rotating internship in 1990 at Lakeside Hospital in Missouri and a family practice residency at the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine in 1992 where he was chief resident. The spectrum of his medical practice has covered all aspects of primary care from delivering babies, performing spinal taps, to caring for critically ill elderly patients in the intensive care unit. He has over a decade of emergency room and urgent care experience.

Dr. Lum has a passion for helping others. His gift of dexterity, procedural experience, and thirst for knowledge compelled him to incorporate newer technologies, particular in the field of laser physics and medical aesthetics. He now specializes in noninvasive medical aesthetic procedures for which he has received additional training, certification and experience. He currently helps train physicians, physician assistants and registered nurses with preceptorships and formal medical aesthetics courses.

A proponent of evidence-based medicine and research, Dr Lum also completed two years of post-graduate training in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Loma Linda University’s School of Health. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California and of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Michelle Layug, RN, BSN, FNP-C, MSN
Michelle is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is local to Southern California and has concentrated most of her aesthetic education and practice here in the greater Los Angeles area. She received her Masters Degree in Nursing from UCLA and her B.S. in Nursing from Mount St. Mary’s College. Her passion for helping others has led her into the field of nursing with experiences that include medical-surgical, intensive care, internal medicine, women’s health and diabetes. Her interests also extended in the field of dermatology and aesthetics. Beginning with a position in Beverly Hills, Michelle assisted Dermatologists and RNs with consultations, minor surgeries, assessments and laser procedures using advanced laser technologies for a variety of skin disorders. She has worked for various medical spa facilities, specializing in nearly all aspects of aesthetics, skin rejuvenation, laser procedures and skin care treatments.

Carrie Edler, R.N., BSN.
As Senior Nurse, Carrie is certified in all areas of aesthetics offered at Skin Remedies. A native to the greater Los Angeles area, Carrie started her life-long passion of nursing while still attending high school. After graduation, she enrolled in LA County USC (LAC-USC) School of Nursing ultimately becoming part of the operating room team at LAC-USC Medical Center. She gained experience in all fields of surgery, specializing primarily in Head and Neck, Cardiac, Vascular, and Neurosurgery while working under several distinguished and world-renowned surgeons throughout her 15 years in the operating room.

Carrie returned to education and earned her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, also earning her Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) degree from UCLA. Carrie continues to draw on her medical and surgical background while enhancing clientele at Skin Remedies. Her extensive knowledge of aesthetics and ever-growing passion for the industry keeps Skin Remedies' treatments and procedures up to date with the most modern of skin-enhancing alternatives. Carrie continues to oversee Skin Remedies' highly skilled and trained nurses while performing the latest advances in aesthetics.

Kelley Teegardin, Esthetician
Kelley has over twenty years of experience in aesthetics and skin-care, beginning her career as a cosmetologist. After joining and collaborating with a distinguished Dermatologist, Kelley altered her career path in the direction of non-invasive cosmetic skin treatments. She continues to educate herself on innovative and impressive remedies for skin problems in every facet and presentation. Kelley has worked extensively with skin treatments, and continues to contract the most novel of techniques, services, and equipment.

At Skin Remedies, Kelley performs all of the non-medical skin treatments, specializing in European facial techniques, chemical peels, and topical solutions. She utilizing Skin Remedies' own line of dermatologist-formulated products in conjunction with state-of-the-art procedures and treatments. She is particularly known for her meticulous deep pore cleansing method (extractions).
