This two-step series of treatments is designed to treat acne and actinic keratosis. This unique treatment incorporates a topical acid natural to the body’s chemistry with light activation, eliminating actinic keratosis without scarring. Photodynamic therapy has been used for several years to treat actinic keratosis and to prevent invasive non-melanoma cancers. It can also be used to treat sun damaged skin and cystic acne caused by sebaceous gland overproduction. Levulan PDT has been shown to be very effective in aggressively treating moderate to severe acne with long-lasting results or prescription of antibiotics or accutane.
