Native to California, Dr. Michael Lum is a licensed physician and surgeon in the State of California. He received his baccalaureate degree with honors from Loma Linda University, and his medical degree at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1989. He completed a rotating internship in 1990 at Lakeside Hospital in Missouri and a family practice residency at the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine in 1992 where he was chief resident. The spectrum of his medical practice has covered all aspects of primary care from delivering babies, performing spinal taps, to caring for critically ill elderly patients in the intensive care unit. He has over a decade of emergency room and urgent care experience.

Dr. Lum has a passion for helping others. His gift of dexterity, procedural experience, and thirst for knowledge compelled him to incorporate newer technologies, particular in the field of laser physics and medical aesthetics. He now specializes in noninvasive medical aesthetic procedures for which he has received additional training, certification and experience. He currently helps train physicians, physician assistants and registered nurses with preceptorships and formal medical aesthetics courses. Yet, his extensive background in primary care medicine enables him to treat individuals as “whole persons,” not simply patients who want nicer looking skin.

A proponent of evidence-based medicine and research, Dr Lum also completed two years of post-graduate training in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Loma Linda University’s School of Health. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California and of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.
